Silicon Sensor International AG announced today that according to preliminary figures the quarterly result could be improved compared to Q2 2009, although break even could not be reached yet. Operative Result (EBIT) in Q3 2009 rose by Euro 0.4 mn to Euro -0.7 mn compared to the previous quarter. Sales rose by 26% to Euro 7.8 mn compared to Q2 2009 (Euro 6.2 mn). The orders on hand went up by 7% compared to the second quarter. EBIT of the nine months period amounted to Euro -1.5 mn at sales of Euro 20.9 mn. In the comparable nine months period 2008 sales were Euro 29.5 mn with an EBIT of Euro 5.2 mn.
The company expects a further improvement of results in the fourth quarter of 2009. Yet, the global economic recovery has not taken place to the degree which was originally expected. Thus, the company expects an operating result (EBIT) of Euro -1.8 mn at sales of at least Euro 28 mn.
The proceeds of the recently completed capital increase, which has already been successfully filed in the trade register, were Euro 12.1 mn. The capital will be employed in the acceleration of further growth in the upcoming years.
