By successfully taking over MPD GmbH Dresden, the Silicon Sensor Group reaches a entirely new level on its way to became a global player for customized sensor solutions.
In the late evening of September 16, 2005 Silicon Sensor Group took over 84 % of the Microelectronic Packaging Dresden GmbH, registered at the district court Dresden under HRB 13726, from the Zentrum Mikroelektronik Dresden AG. In comparison to Silicon Sensor, MPD is also a fast growing high-tech company. Already about 40 % of the sales are generated from automobile industrie supplying – an interesting field for Silicon Sensor.
The succsesfull acquisition of MPD GmbH is advantageous for the Silicon Sensor Group in many ways: First Silicon Sensor will reach a higher stage of production with the packaging capacities of MPD in the field of serial production. Second MPD´s own sensor system solutions will widen our group portfolio and put Silicon Sensor in the position to offer its own customized packaging in the field of serial production, mainly for the automobile branch. Third, Silicon Sensor’s business will benefit from MPD’s very good standing with its customers for over 10 years. Fourth, the originated synergy effects contribute to cost reductions. Together with MPD GmbH the Silicon Sensor Group expects increased sales of about 30 Million Euro in 2006.
To finance the acquisition Silicon Sensor will carry out a capital increase. The share price for the new shares will be € 9.90. Strong investors guaranteed for the entire capital increase.
